Closures scheduled at night for Selmon and Meridian entrance to the Reversible Express Lanes
TAMPA -- Closures with detours are scheduled for both directions of the lower level Selmon Expressway (SR 618), as well as the Reversible Express Lanes (REL) entrance at Meridian Avenue between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday and Friday (July 19 and 20) nights. A closure of only the westbound lanes is also scheduled from 8 a.m. Saturday (July 28) to 5 p.m. Sunday (July 29).
The detours will happen between 22nd Street (Exit 9) and 50th Street (Exit 11) for the lower levels. The Reversible Express Lanes (which carry traffic only in the eastbound direction at night) will be closed from the entrance at Meridian Avenue to the slip ramp just west of U.S. Highway 301.
EASTBOUND DETOUR: All eastbound traffic will be directed off the Selmon Expressway at 21st/22nd Street (Exit 9), detoured east on State Road 60 (Adamo Drive), then back onto the Expressway using the 50th Street entrance ramp. Tolls will be suspended for exiting the eastbound Selmon at 22nd Street during the detour hours only.
WESTBOUND DETOUR: Westbound traffic will be directed off the Selmon Expressway at 50th Street (Exit 11), detoured west on SR 60 (Adamo Drive), then back onto the Expressway using the 21st/22nd Street entrance ramp. Tolls will be suspended for entering the westbound Selmon at 22nd Street during detour hours only.
DETOUR FOR REVERSIBLE EXPRESS LANES: The first opportunity for eastbound drivers to enter the REL from the lower level of the Selmon Expressway will be at the slip ramp located just west of U.S. Highway 301.
